I hope your countdown to Christmas has been exciting, not long at all to go now! Todays post will be looking at The Body Shops recent release of their metal lip liquids. I’m a big fan of their regular ones so I was super excited to see them bringing in the metallic trend and releasing some new ones for the festive season!
I have almost every colour from their original range of Matte Lip Liquids and my personal favourites are “Nairobi Camellia” which is an every day nudey pink and “Mauritius Dahlia” which is a berry burgundy. The formula is gorgeous, I feel it sits on the lips so nicely and only starts to go dry after about 6 hours of wear which is pretty decent.
They’ve bought out 6 metallic shades for Christmas. I only decided to pick up half of them as I wasn’t sure if the other ones would suit me all that well. The shades I decided to pick up were…
A subtle but gorgeous gold nude, I think this would be great for a natural look with a light pink eyeshadow.
I thought from the packaging and the name that this one would be more of a burgundy with blue undertones but it’s more of a vibrant red. Still an absolutely gorgeous colour though with a more subtle metallic vibe. This is definitely my favourite out of the three!
A strong brown that honestly suits me a lot less than I thought it would unfortunately but I can imagine it looking gorgeous on anyone that isn’t as pale as a ghost like me!
After trying out and wearing these a few times, I actually think I like the formula MORE than the original ones. I didn’t actually think that was possible as they’re so easy to wear. The colour payoff is gorgeous and vibrant too and the metallic effect is so perfect for this season or even to just spruce up a daytime look. I also recently ate a whole meal with “Plum Titanium” on and didn’t even have to reapply which I was thoroughly impressed by.
I just want to take a second to also thank The Body Shop for the recent “Happiness Package” they very kindly sent me. It really did cheer me up and was extremely generous of them to do so.
It includes two of my all time favourite skincare products, the Himalayan Charcoal Mask and Seaweed Face Wash which you can read about in my post here. And one of the brand new shades of the original Matte Lip Liquids called “Tuscany Lily” which I am in LOVE with. It’s sort of a browny burgundy which of course is perfect for this season, here it is:
The Body Shop have also released some other makeup bits for Christmas such as a star face stamp, cosmetic glitter and a giant body shimmer puff. What is your opinion on these? Do you think they’re cute or a bit too much of a throwback?
