Staying Fashionable This Festive Season With Boohoo!
11th December 2018
It’s really not long until Christmas now and oh my am I EXCITED for this year. It’s going to be full of food, family, friends and fun. After an extremely long year, I’m really looking forward to some down time with the people I love the most and spending some quality time together this festive season.
As I have been a bit of a scrooge in years before for all sorts of reasons, I’ve never properly owned a Christmas jumper. I’ve owned jumpers with patterns on that could pass as one but never exclusively a jumper that can only really be worn during the festive season. I’ve actually been sent two this year (lucky me!) but in this post I’m working with Boohoo to celebrate Christmas Jumper Day which supports Save The Children! It’s this Friday on the 14th December and if you purchase certain Christmas jumpers from their website in preparation for the holidays, they’ll donate £5 to the charity. You can even get involved in the day and donate yourself by heading over to their website here for more information!
Festive Season Fashion
As we all know, I’m partial to more of an alternative style and I already own a lot of red so I went for a bottle green and white jumper called “Reindeer & Snowflake Christmas Jumper”. I would link to it but it’s actually now sold out in the colour I have (oops, sorry). But you can find some very similar styles in Boohoo’s Christmas jumper collection here.
Now I am very much for comfort in fashion, despite my Dr Marten obsession. I was extremely tempted to shove this jumper on with the classic black leggings and boots as usually, I live in a variant of them during the cold months. However, I did just treat myself to a long overdue black faux leather skirt. The only one I had was lined with a really odd material that made the skirt completely ride up whenever I walked, it wasn’t pretty or comfortable. Every goth girl has to have their signature leather skirt, right? The answer is yes.
Funnily enough I saw someone on my Instagram wearing it and then I went and purchased it the next day. See, influencer marketing DOES work and I’m clearly a sucker for it. I thought tucking the jumper into the skirt might make it look really bulgy and weird but it actually didn’t and was surprisingly comfortable (and warm). The jumper is really cosy and actually a lot warmer than it looks. As we all know animal print is in at the moment, I decided to also pair it with a dark red leopard print scarf. Print clashes that actually look good are one of my favourite things.
I was a little skeptical as doubling a material can be a horrendous decision at times but I went for it and wore a black faux leather jacket, too. I actually quite liked the combination of the two. It made for quite a rock n roll look, even with a patterned Christmas jumper underneath. Of course I’d have to put some Dr Martens with it, too. My Skullweb ones to be precise. These were bagged on Black Friday and are actually classed as a “youth” pair. They’re genuinely A LOT comfier than adults aswell as being cheaper and I’m honestly tempted to stick to the youth section for all future pairs I buy…
How will you be styling your Christmas jumper this festive season?
