Favourite Spring And Summer Scents!

10th March 2019

Hey everyone!

I know we’re currently still in Winter but before we know it, the next seasons are going to roll around and we’ll be basking in the sun once again. I’m actually quite enjoying the cold, just not when it’s icy or constantly raining. I don’t know about you but the products I use tend to change depending on the weather and season we’re in and perfumes are something I really love wearing but not something I tend to talk about a lot on here. Here are the Spring and Summer scents I’d recommend!

My Favourite Spring And Summer Scents

Shay And Blue Black Tulip* // £55 for 100ml

shay and blue black tulip

So I collaborated with Shay and Blue last year and uploaded a review on this perfume (what a great name!). You can view the whole post here but I absolutely adore this scent and am so happy I came across it as I feel like it’s one of those perfumes that you can wear in the daytime aswell as the evening. Black Tulip is a fresh, spicy and sweet scent all in one which is what I love the most about it. It’s really versatile, long lasting and it’s got something for everyone in it. Shay and Blue have so many other amazing sounding scents so you should definitely check them out if this doesn’t sound like your kind of perfume. Their products are such a decent price for the individuality and quality you receive.

Missguided Boss Babe // £28 for 80ml perfume & keyring

Missguided Boss Babe

I first smelt this when my friend Becky received it as PR and I knew I had to have it. It reminded me of one of my absolute favourite body creams (Japanese Camellia Cream) and it has almond milk, vanilla and magnolia notes in it. It is gorgeously creamy and sweet smelling and much like Black Tulip, it’s also suitable for daywear. I’m not sure if I’d say it was strong enough for evening/event wear though so a little less versatile. Although the name is not completely up my street, I really love how funky and different the bottle is and I’d love to try a few more of the Missguided Spring and Summer scents.

Givenchy Hot Couture // £49 for 30ml

I received a bottle of this perfume for my 13th birthday and have adored it ever since. It’s so strong and long-lasting that you only need a spray or two to keep you smelling wonderful for hours. I’m a sucker for sweet scents and I’d say this was prominently raspberry. It also has magnolia in it, too giving it creamier undertones so it isn’t too sickly sweet. Although it does remind me of being in my teens, it brings back a nice nostalgia and I still think it’s more than suitable to wear at my age. I definitely wouldn’t say it was for you if you don’t like fruity and sweet perfumes, though.

Viktor And Rolf Flowerbomb Extreme // £80 for 50ml

Viktor and Rolf flowerbomb extreme

This is definitely one of my favourite evening Spring and Summer scents. It’s creamy, floral and sweet all at once. I would say it is a little too strong for the daytime as it’d be really overpowering. I first found this through my best friend Marika, as weird as this sounds she always smells SO nice and I especially loved this when she wore it so I had to steal the scent for myself. I’m not actually sure if you can buy this perfume anymore, I luckily managed to pick this up back when I worked for The Body Shop as we got a massive discount on quite a few different brands at the time. I’m honestly savouring every drop of it as I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to get it again!

Paco Robanne Olympéa // £62.50 for 50ml

Paco Robanne Olympea

My absolute favourite. I honestly cannot get enough of this perfume! It’s described as an oriental scent which I guess I’d say is about right. It’s floral, it’s sweet but also contains a hint of spice and musk. I’ve been wearing this for about 3 years now and ALWAYS wear it for special occasions with the lotion underneath to enhance the longevity and strength of it. It can be pretty pricey but I honestly think it’s worth it. It also lasts forever so if you spray it on your coat/scarf/something you wear quite a few times before washing, be prepared to smell of it for a very long time (definitely not a bad thing).

Great post! The Victor and Rolf perfume sounds like my kind of scent, I have another one of theirs that I love but I’m running out so I’ll be looking to purchase another sometime soon. I was recently given a Jo Malone English pear and freesia bottle that I love and smells amazing, perfect for spring and summer. Thanks for sharing 😊 x

It’s so bloody lovely! I haven’t smelt any by them that I don’t like actually 😊 Ooh my friends got that and she absolutely adores it – I’m yet to smell any Jo Malone scents! X

These are some lovely scents! My favorite one all year round is Chanel5 🙈

    • blacktulipbeauty says:

Ooh I’m not sure if I’ve smelt that! There is one Chanel one that I absolutely adore but I bought the Aldi dupe of it as I can’t afford it oops hehe! X

  4. I have quite a big perfume collection (I’m slightly obsessed!) but I haven’t tried any of these, they all sound really nice though so I might need to go on a little spending spree soon! My favourite scent at the moment is the Tiffany & Co perfume which is so dreamy! Loved this post as always.

Ooh I’d love to know what you have in yours! I haven’t tried anything from Tiffany, I didn’t even know they did perfumes! Xx

I’ve not smelt any of these scents so I’ll definitely have to give them a go. I tend to stick to the same scents so I could do with something new.

I clicked on this out of pure curiosity because I don’t really have seasonal scents. I don’t like anything sweet or too floral so I hate most ‘summer’ fragrances. All of mine are quite woody/ musky, I like them to be a bit heavier. I still love the fact you managed to collab with a fragrance with the same name 😂 x

Oh my gosh really?! They’re like my favourite ones haha! To be fair there’s hardly any scents that I particularly don’t like unless they’re unbearably strong as they give me a headache! I bought Dolce by D&G and absolutely loved it at first but upon wearing it for a while it gave me the worst headaches and migraines so I had to give it away! I do love woody/musky one, I have one like that from The Body Shop and it is bloody gorgeous! Hehe me too and I’m so glad I loved the fragrance, too! X

I haven’t tried a lot of perfumes in my time, but I guess when I think of Spring the first thing that comes to my mind is Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I definitely need to smell all these perfumes that you have mentioned!

Funnily enough I’ve never actually warmed to any of the Marc Jacobs scents! The bottles are absolutely beautiful, though. I’d fully recommend every single one! X

  8. Ooohh thank-you for a lovely post Alice. I am such a sucker for scents and perfumes, especially Spring and Summer ones! I definitely need to small all these perfumes, they smell ABSOLUTELY amazing. Thank-youu!

Love this post! I’m always on the hunt for new perfumes! Sounds like you’ve got an amazing collection building up and the bottle are oooh so pretty!! P.s love your photography

  10. My fave spring scent is Ari by Ariana Grande, so floral! I love the packaging of the missguided one!

  11. I still really need to have a whiff of the Black Tulip perfume, I’ve been wanting to smell it ever since you first reviewed it. It’s so cool that you have a perfume with the same name as your blog, I’m a bit jealous. I got Boss Babe in a sample size as part of a PR package before and I LOVE it, I just wish it lasted a bit longer but it’s such a fab everyday Summer scent. I definitely need the Japanese Camellia Cream if it smells the same! I know I’d love the Givenchy scent as I loooove anything with raspberry in. Flowerbomb is one of my all-time favourite perfumes, my mom wears it sometimes and it reminds me of her. I haven’t smelt the Extreme version though, I’ll have to give it a sniff! I honestly don’t think I’ve smelt Olympea either, I’m definitely gonna have to hunt that down and smell it too if it’s your favourite. My personal favourite perfume at the moment is Burberry’s Her, it’s so sweet and I’m obsessed with it.

  12. I reckon your fave scents are right up my alley – I love sweet, spicy and musky scents so everything sounds gorgeous! I don’t tend to have spring/summer scent, but I love Gabrielle by Chanel for evenings and I’ve just picked up one by Roberto Cavalli for the day time which is lovely and sweet!
I love your descriptions of scents – I’m honestly shit at describing them but totally get what you mean 😂❤️❤️

  13. Okay, all of these sound like they smell absolutely incredible!? I honestly think every single one is up my street too.. I’ll have to give them all a whiff the next time I come round 😉 I actually don’t own any of these, but there’s no such thing as too much perfume right?! Great post Al 🙂 xo
