Another product post today but something I’ve never reviewed before – teeth products! I’m someone that’s super self conscious about my teeth as I have a little overlap in my front teeth. Whilst Jake thinks it’s super cute, it really just makes me hate showing them a lot of the time. I’m really hoping by improving the whiteness of them, it may give me a new found confidence to show off these nashers.
The lovely Rhiannon from Brodie & Stone kindly offered to send me two Janina products to test for myself. I jumped at the opportunity to try these out as I’d love to hopefully get a whiter smile before the festivities begin. I’ve also got a new camera so having some nice photos of the family where I actually look like I’m smiling with teeth and not sort of half-grimacing would be nice, haha!
Janina are a teeth whitening brand that you can use from the comfort of your own home and won’t have to break the bank buying from them. The formulas of their products are low abrasive and have been clinically proven to whiten teeth. Instead of using hydrogen peroxide, their products contain a mixture of natural fruit enzymes known as the Bromaine Complex. This removes stubborn stains that sit on the surface of the teeth without stripping them of the protection they need.
I’m going to bite the bullet here and post a (before) close-up picture of my teeth as being an honest reviewer, I like to show the effects of products I’ve used as much as I can! (please be nice lol)
For 2 weeks now I have been trying out the Maxiwhite Super Strength Ultra White Whitening Toothpaste and the Charcoal and Clay Teeth Whitening Powder. The powder won a bronze Pure Beauty award this year for “Best New Oral Beauty Product” so I did have high hopes for this one!
I’ve got to say, I actually noticed a difference in my oral health in general after around 2 days. Darker areas of my teeth that I disliked before were less apparent and my breath stayed fresh for much longer than usual. Both products are strongly mint flavoured but not so much that it’s uncomfortable. As I’ve been using the products every day, I’ve noticed a small difference every couple of days or so in the appearance of my teeth.
Here is a picture of them I took this morning after around 2 weeks of using them and personally I’m thrilled with the difference! (I seem to have conveniently misplaced the lipstick I had on before so I wore the most similar one I had to make it as fair as possible).
I have really enjoyed using both of the products but I do think that the powder has been the most effective for me. I’m really excited to continue using these and see what they can really do long-term! I love how much whiter my teeth look and would like to hope the slight yellow glow I still have will eventually disappear.
Janina offer a few other products like an alternative toothpaste for people who suffer with sensitivity. They also sell whitening strips and pre-filled trays for people who might want stronger/more targeted treatments. Their products are currently on a save 1/3 offer over on the Boots website here up until Christmas so get your paws on them for cheaper whilst you can!
Have you used any teeth whitening products before? Did they work for you?
