L’oreal Baby Roll Coloured Mascaras!

23rd August 2017
Hey everyone!
Happy Wednesday! So I posted a picture of a look I did with one of these mascaras yesterday and L’oreals twitter replied saying it was a gorgeous look so I’m pretty chuffed!

There’s no point in me giving L’oreal an intro as I’m more than sure that everyone knows who they are and have most likely tried one of their products at one time or another.

Monochrome has been and always will be big in fashion but I have been seeing more and more colourful and creative looks recently with makeup brands bringing out mermaid and unicorn palettes, highlighters and brushes. Holographic nails, light up lashes, glitter stuck on to lips, nips and god knows what else! Festival makeup is in full swing and creeping into every day life and the things I’ve been personally getting on board with are the coloured eye liners and mascaras, I wouldn’t say I’m not adventurous with my makeup but I can definitely be a bit shy when it comes to bright colours so going for these mascaras was pretty exciting.

I originally did want to try out the NYX ones as they’re pretty cheap at only £6 each and come in array of colours but after waiting a few weeks for the colours I wanted to come into stock with no luck and Superdrug having a 3 for 2 offer on – I couldn’t resist picking up the 3 L’oreal Miss Baby Roll coloured mascaras in Indigo, teal and lilac. I also received a free cute passport case with them which is a practical bonus gift!

I think the packaging is adorable for these, the lid is baby pink and baby blue just like bubblegum sweets and the bottom half is see through so you can see the colour and amount of product you have left to use! I was a bit worried about the wand as I always am when trying a new mascara due to having such small eyes but it’s a good, average size and picks up a fair amount of product to apply to the lashes.

Teal // £7.99

I love this colour, I would’ve personally given it the name turquoise but either way, it gives such a lovely colour to the lashes and is perfect for adding a bright pop of colour to any look! I applied it here to my bottom lashes and the liner is the NYX Vivid Brights liner in Red. It lasted on my lashes all day but also came off easy with a makeup remover.

Lilac // £7.99

I tried to love this one, I really did, when I applied it without any mascara underneath it kind of just looked like I had an odd eye infection so i put some black mascara on as a base and popped some of this on top but you could barely see it, the colour/pigment just wasn’t strong enough. Here is a picture where you can ever so slightly see it on the tips if you look hard enough. i’m really disappointed as this was the colour I was most looking forward to creating some funky looks with!

Indigo // £7.99

Electric blue mascaras are always cool and retro and this is just as fabulous, it really does give the definition of a black mascara just with an extra bit of funkiness thrown in.
What is your opinion on coloured mascaras, are you a lover or do you think it’s best to do more colourful eyeshadow/liner and stick to black mascara?
’Til next time,
BTB Xx

Wow! They look very pretty! I have never tired any other colour of mascara other than black. I don’t think I was adventurous enough. But it looks so pretty! I’ve been falling in love with the festival makeup and wish I was going to a festival this year because I don’t have it in me to walk around London covered in glitter just yet. I love these mascaras! Looks awesome.

You should try them, they don’t look as silly as I thought they might! The most subtle is definitely the purple on top of black! Haha I reckon you should just go for it with the glitter when you’ve got the confidence 🙂 Xo

Woow, I love any product like this! I used to adore colored Mascara in school but then went out of fashion. The teal Mascara makes your eyes pop I adore the colour, I would love this but I don’t think I would have the confidence! Also I am soo disappointed as well with the lilac one, I thought that would have been very pigmented especially after seeing the teal one.

I love how things go out of fashion and come back years later! I’ve seen that MAC, YSL and The Body Shop have bought a whole range of them out too. Yeah the lilac one has broken my heart slightly but oh well, I’m definitely going to try a similar one in another brand! X

I actually have this mascara in black – only just got it. And i’m really loving it so far. Picks up all my lashes, less of a chunky look than i’m used to.
Love coloured mascara but i would rather a true green!

I am a fan of the formula, I’ll have to try the black too! NYX do a really nice green one that I really want to try and they’re only £6!

I’ve actually never tried a coloured mascara before, but I don’t wear mascara everyday because it often makes my eyes sore afterwards.. ??‍♀️ These colours are gorgeous on you though, and they genuinely do make your eyes pop! ?

I’ve seen these in Superdrug but I’ve been really unsure of them! Your colour choices are amazing – especially the teal and the purple they stand out so much, and you could create some amazing makeup looks with them.
