Lush Daddy-O Shampoo Review!

22nd January 2017

Hey everyone! I just want to start by saying thank you to anyone that’s been reading my posts/giving any feedback etc., I’m having a lot of fun sharing my beauty bits! 🙂

Anyway, I thought on this post I would share one of the absolute best products that I use ALL the time and why it’s so fabulous.

This product is the Lush Daddy-O shampoo! I stumbled across this product about a year ago when I really wanted to start getting my hair back to blonde and bleached properly again (I have a really bad habit for getting my hair a really lovely blonde, getting bored of it and then dying over it with any crazy coloured dye thats in my house). But I haven’t dyed my hair an unnatural colour since Reading festival 2016 now when I had it half pink and half purple – which was awesome but the sun ended up bleaching it out anyway!

Originally I started using the L’oreal Professionnel silver shampoo which I didn’t really feel did a lot for my hair at all, I didn’t even get through the whole bottle before throwing it out. So carrying on my hunt I came across Lush Daddy-O. The thing that originally drew me in with this shampoo is its BEAUTIFUL smell, it smells exactly like the old retro sweets “Parma Violets” and the fact that it was also a shampoo to help keep brassy tones away was a huge bonus. At £5.75 for the smallest bottle of 100ml, I thought it was quite pricey but decided to invest as even if it wasn’t that great for blondes, my hair would smell gorgeous.

I had my hair freshly highlighted and decided to use it and was amazed at how white my hair looked afterwards! I didn’t use a toner either so it made it even more impressive and of course my hair oozed the sweet and scrumptious smell of Parma Violets. My hair also looked super bouncy and shiny and didn’t feel weighed down at all.

The shampoo contains all sorts of fabulous ingredients for the hair including coconut oil, seaweed, bergamot oil and lemon and lime juice helping to give the hair a lift and put the nourishment back in that it loses day to day. The gorgeous smell comes from the violet plant which is also known to be antiseptic and a very similar colour to the shampoo itself. I now use this shampoo once or twice a week just to keep my hair in good condition and as light as possible between bleaching/toning.

I’ve also heard from other people that if your hair is light enough and you leave the shampoo in for 30-40 minutes then it leaves a slight purple tint to the hair which would also be nice for anyone who looks their hair a little more cool-toned.

I also bought the “Sugar Daddy-O” conditioning bar to try alongside it but I really didn’t get along with it. I felt like the formula was far too solid and no matter how hard I tried, barely any product actually melted off for me to use. It also doesn’t have as nice a smell as the shampoo so in my opinion, it’s way more hassle than it’s worth and was a bit of a waste of money for me.

Hope you all liked my Lush Daddy-o review, what are your Lush must-haves? I haven’t tried all that many products from Lush so I’d love any recommendations!

‘Til next time,
