Make Up Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 1!

21st January 2018

Hey everyone!

Another budget beauty product today that Jake popped in my stocking for Christmas and I was super excited to try. Some are saying it’s a really good dupe for the Naked palettes and I can see why as the shades are quite similar. As this palette is £4 you’re rescuing your bank balance and saving a whopping £35.50. Of course it doesn’t have the famous Urban Decay stamp on it but with all the amazing quality high street brands that are churning out similar products, is the name necessary?

Makeup Revolution have been really upping their game recently, especially with the release of their new concealer that’s apparently meant to rival the famous Tarte Shape Tape. I haven’t yet seen a bad word about this concealer so I am WAY too excited to try it. The Iconic 3 palette was also Superdrugs 5th best selling beauty product of 2017 so they really are a high street brand that are smashing it right now.

In my opinion, this palette holds the perfect shades for every day warm-toned looks as it contains an array of pinks, golds, bronzes and a few darker shades to smoke these out with. The ratio of mattes to shimmers is perfect for me personally as I’m more of a shimmer wearer. The mattes in the palette are great transition shadows so it’s definitely a palette you wouldn’t have to lug any additional products around with for an eye look.

I’m also incredibly impressed with the pigmentation of this. Much like the Ultra Pro Glow Highlighting Palette I recently reviewed here, it blends really beautifully and easily onto the skin and with other shades. I would actually go as far as saying I actually think I prefer using this to my Naked palettes as the colour payoff packs a bit more of a punch with less product. I’d highly recommend picking up this palette whether you’re an amateur or an expert, especially with a price tag like that! I think these palettes would be really great for freelance MUAs who can’t afford to spend a fortune on high-end palettes for their kit.

What are your thoughts on Makeup Revolution products? What is your must have item from them?

I have this one! I love the quality, but wish there were some more matte shades!

    • blacktulipbeauty says:

Yeah I think there are only 2 or 3 but I’m more of a shimmer wearer so it didn’t bother me too much! x

  3. Sophie says:

Ooh I haven’t tried this palette! I don’t like the Revolution palettes AS MUCH as Urban Decay but I do think they’re really nice and amazing for the price!- x

    • blacktulipbeauty says:

I just don’t feel like Urban Decays pigment is very good compared to a load of other brands and they’re way overpriced! X

  4. Amy says:

Great post! I am loving makeup revolution product right now I seem to pick something new up everytime I go to Superdrug! I especially can’t wait to try out their new concealer to see if it lives up to its hype!

  5. I’m always hearing about Make Up Revolution palettes but I’m yet to try one, at £4 though I really should pick one up and see what they’re like, this one looks lovely!

    • blacktulipbeauty says:

You totally should, they’re honestly so worth the money, I reach for this a lot more than a lot of my high end palettes! X

  6. Bexa says:

Wow! Those are really pretty shades! And £4 for a palette is such a bargain! I’m gonna have to keep my eye out for this (pun intended) ?. Thanks for the beauty inspiration ? xx

  7. Meg says:

I’ve got this palette, and i absolutely love it. It rivals the naked palette, especially considering value for money!

    • blacktulipbeauty says:

I definitely agree, I’ve really gone off of UD’s shadows seeing as there are drugstore brands just as good! x

  8. I am also way too excited about trying the make up revolution concealer, I have only heard good things like you have! However, it looks like my shopping list from this brand is going to be increasing after seeing your gorgeous photos wearing this eyeshadow palette! The pigmentation really is very impressive and if it rivals a Naked palette for a fraction of the price, you really can’t go wrong!

I tried it and I really like it but it still doesn’t live up to the collection one in my opinion! Aww thank you so much, it is definitely worth investing in for the price 🙂 X

  9. Vanessa says:

    That palette has amazing shades!

I’m obsessed with their palettes and have had a couple of them myself (one of them had to be repurchased when something in my makeup bag leaked and stuck the lid shut ??) I’ve got the matte shades of this palette but definitely want to add this one to my collection as it’s got some more shimmer going on!

    Gaby xx

  12. Leslie says:

Wow those shades look so pretty! I love how lighter they look since you can probably use them for more occasions!

  13. Alice says:

I love Makeup Revolution! I swear by their highlighters and I’m loving their new concealer, can’t believe it’s only £4. I actually don’t overly rate the Naked palettes, I just think they’re a bit disappointing especially considering the price tag. It’s really intriguing to know that this one packs more of a punch than them, I kind of wanna try some out now! x

    • blacktulipbeauty says:

The concealer is super fab I agree! Definitely one I’m going to keep in my makeup bag. Yeah I agree, I’ve really gone off my Naked palettes I can’t even remember the last time I used one! X

  14. Jenny says:

I have a make up revolution palette which I won in a giveaway not long ago which is similar to this, only smaller but with very similar shades, especially the sparkly golds and shimmers and I absolutely love it! xxx

  15. Julia says:

I adore Revolution and their products. They are of such good quality, but so cheap! They could easily be a high-end brand if they wanted to. It looks like a great palette, the shades are just gorgeous!

    Julia xx

  16. Lily says:

This looks so lovely on you, I’ve unfortunately never had luck with their palettes x

  17. Francesca says:

I’ve heard some great things about makeup revolution! Looks fab on you x

  19. Alicia says:

This palette sounds great! I’m usually quite fussy when it comes to eyeshadow palettes, they have to be pigmented and have shades I know I’m actually going to use, rather than the odd three really nice shades and the rest being quite crap! After reading through this this review and looking at those shades, I know this is a really good palette! I just can’t believe it only £4 ?

    • blacktulipbeauty says:

Its honestly such a bargain and the only ones I don’t think I’d use are the two darkest ones! It’s such a deal for £4! X

  20. You always write such great reviews Alice, I really want to give this pallete a go I do think Make up revolution are fab when you find the right products! You’re eyeshadow look looks amazing as well!

    Emily xx

  21. Ashton says:

I am impressed with how well the colours showed up on your eyes. Looks impressive

  22. Jasmine says:

I’m such a huge makeup revolution fan!! I own all three iconic palettes and they’re all amazing! I actually sold my naked 2 palette because I preferred the revolution one
