Sorry for missing out a post Wednesday, I’ve had a pretty rubbish week and just wasn’t feeling inspired to write anything as a result of it. But I’m back with Mini’s Of The Month today! Here are my honest opinions on some products I’ve been testing out…
GlamGlow Thirstymud Mask 15g // £16
So this will be the third GlamGlow product I’ve tried and featured so far this year. The Supermud mask unfortunately didn’t work that well for my skin but I did enjoy their recent release of the Galacticleanse. I shared my thoughts on this product in my Mini’s Of The Month: January post which you can find here! I have been very apprehensive about trying another of their masks due to the disappointment from the Supermud. If there’s one thing I’ve learned with this brand, it’s that their products seem to work amazingly for some people and not at all for others. I’d definitely recommend trying the travel size I have here before forking out for a full size.
The Thirstymud is probably the mask I’ve heard the most hype around. It’s supposed to be a lifesaver for dry skin and really help clear up any dry patches on the face. I’m genuinely so sad to say it did absolutely nothing for me, again. If anything, my skin actually felt more dry after using it. I just felt like the mask sat on my face for 20 minutes and did nothing but that. I’m starting to think GlamGlow products just don’t agree with my skin but that’s okay as I know they work for so many other peoples. It is a shame though as I was really looking forward to trying out the Thirstymud!
Eyeko Black Magic Mascara 4ml // £19 for 8ml
I heard of Eyeko a few months back when I received an eyeliner of theirs in a monthly beauty box that I was subcribed to. When I did some more research into them I was so surprised that I’d never come across them before as they seem to be quite prevalent in the beauty world. Not to mention, their products aren’t cheap. I absolutely adored the eyeliner I received, it was blacker than black, easy to apply and the longevity was incredible. It’s safe to say I had high hopes for this mascara.
The packaging is a little odd in that the bottle is squeezy. Thinking about it that’s quite useful as it means you can get every last bit of the product out. The brush is a pretty bog standard design, I wouldn’t say it was anything special. It did take quite a few coats to get a good application from it but it did make my lashes look nice eventually. I’d definitely say it was more of a lengthening mascara rather than volumising or thickening but it did stay put well and is quite natural looking. I probably wouldn’t use this mascara on a day to day basis as I do like more of a thickening formula than this generally. I couldn’t fault it if you’re looking for a natural and long staying mascara though.
Rosie for Autograph Amazing Radiance Body Glow 50ml // £12.50 for 120ml
I got this in my Marks and Spencer beauty advent calendar and it’s part of a range that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley designed for them. The packaging is quite luxurious as it’s a gorgeous creamy gold shimmery colour with a little rose on it and I personally think it’s not too bad a price. The ingredients also state that it has sweet almond oil in which always makes me excited as it often means the product is super softening and sweet smelling.
The smell of this reminds me of Olympéa by Paco Robanne which is my all time favourite perfume. It’s not exactly like it but there’s definitely a strong resemblance to it. Personally I’m not into fake tan as I’m so pale that the thought of being any darker with bleach blonde hair kind of terrifies me. This is a brilliant alternative as it adds a really subtle tint of colour and shimmer to the skin that washes straight off and smells incredible. You can apply it anywhere on the body too so it’d be brilliant for a night out and keep you smelling amazing!
So again, another hit or miss month with the miniatures. The only one that has gained my full love and I would truly recommend this month is the Body Glow. I’m sure the other two would be brilliant products for people who have different skin and makeup needs than me. Unfortunately they just weren’t my cup of tea!
