My Boyfriend Reviews Bomb Cosmetics!

15th April 2018

Hey everyone!

Things have been going a bit mad on the blog recently with brands and events and whatnot which is brilliant but I do miss doing the odd stupid/fun post with Jake. I kindly got sent some goodies from Bomb Cosmetics recently to put in my gift guide for the chronically ill which you can read here. Jake has loved using some of their bath products that I bought for him at Christmas so I thought I’d get him to review the mens gift pack I got sent too and see what he thought of it.

The gift pack is called “A Close Shave Potted Gift Pack” and it includes a shower gel, body butter and shave cream. All of the scents are deeper and aimed much more towards men but I’ve got to say I would use them all too as they smell gorgeous! I’m going to let Jake loose on this post and have him write his thoughts on the products himself so over to him…

bomb cosmetics Billie Clean Shower GeL

“Fresh mint fragrance with pure spearmint and peppermint essential oils”

I LOVE the consistency of this shower gel and how it applied. It’s originally like a jelly in the pot but on scooping it out and lathering between the hands, it becomes really creamy. It felt very luxurious to use and didn’t dry my skin out like a lot of products do. The scent was a strong mint aroma but not overpowering, it’d be a brilliant one to use in the morning to wake you up. Overall, a reviving and refreshing product that I’m looking forward to using again.

Bomb cosmetics Man In The Mirror Body Butter

“Lemongrass and black pepper fragrance complete with rosemary and black pepper essential oils”

The smell is the first thing I noticed, quite citrusy and fresh due to the lemongrass but also with a bit of edge created by the black pepper. They contrasted really well to create a nice but not too feminine fragrance. How thick the butter was worried me at first but it seemed to sink in really well and didn’t leave an oily residue either which I was pleasantly surprised by. If this product was a pudding, I’d eat it. Yum.

Bomb COsmetics Smooth Criminal Shaving Cream

“Healing tea tree and refreshing spearmint essential oils”

This was the most “masculine” smelling product out of the three with a classic minty twist. I’d say it was my favourite scent and reminded me of Autograph products from Marks and Spencer. I followed the websites instructions to use my hands to lather up the cream before applying to my face. The first thing I noticed was the consistency of it, it was creamy and averagely thick like shaving soap as opposed to foam. It provided a good barrier between the razor and my face, allowed a clean cut and close shave and left my skin feeling moisturised with a slight tingling sensation afterwards – I assume this was the essential oils in it!

I think this gift pack is great to give to any man that likes to take care of himself as it’s got something for in the shower, after the shower and you can never go wrong with a nice shave cream. The pots are quite small but they seem to last a long time and I love how they’ve made it a bit different with the Michael Jackson references.

So what did you think of Jakes review!? A big thanks to him for getting involved, what a babe. I think the gift pack is really cute and I love the designs on the little pots. Bomb Cosmetics have quite a few new gift packs including this one, a shower butter set which I’m dying for and a sleepy head bath blaster one that I also featured in my recent post here! Head over to their site to check them out!

Great way to mix up the posts and have some fun at the same time 🙂

I love love love posts like this. Not going to lie, I was expecting this to be hilarious in a ‘boyfriend does my make-up’ fail kind of way. But I was so shocked!! He did so well. Talking about the scents literally sounded like it would read on the jar. Amazing ? x

Ahh I love that you got him to write it!! He did really well bless him! And thanks for the tip about the men’s products, Aaron’s not long binned off his old electric shaver for a normal one so that shaving cream sounds like a good buy for him! ❤️❤️

This is such a great gift! I bought my boyfriend a Kiehl’s gift set for Christmas and he only ended up using a couple of the products as he never thinks to use exfoliators, like as a man who wants quick skincare and everyday products this is a great option xx

  14. I love how happy he looks in all of the pictures, and how he’s so willing to get involved with your blog and interests, it’s just so cute! ? I love the idea of this gift set, and it’s great to hear that he loved the products so much as well – I love the sound of the shaving cream myself! I agree that the Michael Jackson references are funny, I would be giggling to myself every time I saw them in the bathroom because I’m a bit of a geek like that.. ???‍♀️

I love that Jake gets involved with your posts, it’s bloody adorable! I love the way they’ve named the products, such a cool idea. I love that he said if it was a pudding he’d eat it – that’s how I know a product is good in my eyes! Haha. I just love sweet smelling things. I still need to get myself a little Bomb Cosmetics haul because some of their scents sound right up my street! x
