Well it’s the last post of 2017 on Black Tulip Beauty and I thought I’d leave it as a sort of prep-for-the-new-year post. I recently posted a Christmassy glitter look that you can read here too before the season ends. I’m not setting any solid ‘resolutions’ as such as my health is a bit unpredictable right now and knowing me I would punish myself for not completing them. I think it is important to set yourself at least some goals though just to keep you motivated. These are just a few things I would really like to do at some point or over a period of time in the next 12 months…
This is never something i’ve been great with but although this is mainly a beauty blog, I do have quite a passion for fashion and styling clothes too. I’d describe my style as sort of gothic chique and I’d really love to start putting some fashion posts up on here and collaborate with some clothing brands. The first step towards that would be to find ways to love my body more as otherwise I’d just hate all the photos and wouldn’t want to post them!
It’s been 2 and a half years since I started my sleeve and I am SO desperate to get it finished. I didn’t mean for it to take so long but lack of money, lack of time, illness and medication has got in the way. One of my main goals is to have it finished by my birthday in May or if not then, the end of 2018 for sure!
Since my early teens I have been determined to set up my own business and with all the great feedback and attention I’ve received since starting up this blog, It’s made me realise that I CAN do it. I finally know what kind of business I want and what my main passion is and I am so excited to start the journey, whenever it may be!
In all honesty, I’ve lost quite a lot of my confidence in performing due to having not done it for such a long time. I really miss singing for people and the buzz it gives you pleasing a crowd! I’m currently working on a project with some guys called Andrew and Kyran otherwise known as “Incline and Despatch” which we are going to start recording for in the new year. I’m hoping this will give me the kick of confidence I need to start putting myself out there as a vocalist again. I’ve also decided I’m going to start uploading videos on YouTube soon too so you can subscribe here if you like whilst waiting for my first upload!
This year has taught me an incredible lesson about who really cares about me and who is only there when it’s convenient for them. Some very unexpected people have been super lovely and I am determined to make more time for those in the upcoming year. I also would love to meet all the girls from the blogger babes chat as they’ve been such fabulous people to become friends with this year!
So there you have it, a little self-improvement, a little career shaping and a little relationship building. I’ve already got a few things I’m really looking forward to next year too as It’s always important to give yourself stepping stones, especially to get through depressing January! What are your goals or resolutions for the year to come? And Happy New Year to all for when the clock strikes midnight!
