Back to the normal Wednesday post this week and I realised I haven’t been doing a lot on makeup recently as I’ve been broadening my blogging horizons so I thought today would be a perfect opportunity to talk to you guys about a product I’ve been using for quite a while now and LOVING.
I’m sure you’ve all heard of NYX and if you haven’t then you need to get on their site right now and purchase yourself something because they are an absolutely fabulous brand and I’m SO happy they’re properly in the UK now. My all time favourite product from them would have to be their Lip Lingeries, why I haven’t written a post on these yet I’m not sure but that will be on my list now, you should try them out in the mean time. BUT ANYWAY today I will be talking about their…
I’m not a big contour-er, I never have been and doubt I ever will be which is surprising as I have a round and chubby face but hey, just gotta embrace it. The only other cheek palette I own is the Kat Von D Shade and Light which I am absolutely in love with but I’ll only use it on special occasions when i want my makeup to be looking professional as I don’t wanna be wasting such an expensive and fabulous product, haha!
It has pinks, purples, a brown, a peach and a gold. Admittedly, I never thought I’d actually use the peach or the gold on my cheeks but since recently dying my hair yellow, they’re the only colours I’ve been using as the contrast is a lot softer and nicer on my skin with the bright hair.
Every single colour is really pigmented especially the darker ones and they are perfectly easily blendable, they’re also a mixture of matte and subtle shimmer finishes which is great to have in one palette as it means you don’t really need to carry multiple things. This palette has really become a big staple in my makeup bag now and I even use the shades as eyeshadows sometimes if I’m feeling super lazy or forget to bring a palette with me when staying out. It’s just a shame they didn’t also pop a highlight or two on the end! Overall, I think this product is brilliant for the price, it’s compact, convenient, versatile and works out just over £2 for each shade.
What are your favourite contour/blush/NYX products? Do you prefer shimmer or matte?
