Todays post is quite exciting as I’ve recently become a #Skinfluencer which basically means I’m a brand ambassador for the wonderful skincare brand Dermalogica! I’ve used their products since I was 13 years old and absolutely adore them so to be able to become a part of this programme meant a hell of a lot to me.
A month or two back I got sent a starter pack of goodies to get me started on my journey with them. My products were dependent on the answers I gave about my skin type so they’d be perfectly suitable. Here are the products I got sent and how I’ve been getting on with them!
Dermalogica PreCleanse // £38.50 for 150ml
Clearly this is the first step of the cleansing process and is a beautifully silky oil. You apply it with dry hands and then massage some water in to help lather the product and cleanse the skin. Although time consuming, I am definitely a fan of the double cleanse process. It has done my skin absolute wonders and there’s honestly nothing better than feeling like your skin has been completely cleansed of everything on it. It doesn’t just cleanse off waterproof makeup and sunscreen but also any excess oil, environmental pollutants and residual products that end up attaching themselves to the skin throughout the day.
Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel // £32 for 250ml
This product is the second step in the cleansing routine and is basically a face wash. it goes unbelievably far as you only need just over a pea sized amount to do your entire face once it’s lathered! This is another product I’ve used since my teenage years and I’m so glad it’s still going as it makes your skin feel squeaky clean. It’s such a thorough and deep-cleansing product and I’d highly recommend this for any skin type as it helps to rid the skin of toxins and reveal smooth and fresh looking skin.
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant // £49.50 for 75g
I know what you’re thinking, that is a quite a steep price. But in all honesty, I’ve never known a product so worth its price tag. I know it’s currently all the rage to use a liquid exfoliator instead of one with particles but this is the most gentle but effective exfoliant I’ve ever used. It’s a rice-based powder that activates once you mix it with water releasing rice enzymes, salicylic acid and papain to achieve the skin you’ve always wanted – bright, smooth and polished.
I’ve used this product on and off since I was around 13 and I swear by it. After consistent use for around 2 weeks, it has rid my skin of blemishes, bumpy skin and anything horrible that’s brewing on my face. It does have an initial detox process where your skin does have a bit of breakout session but once that’s over, your skin is glowing. This is by far my favourite product from Dermalogica and one I have and will use for many years.
Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream // £37 for 50ml
This moisturiser is their best seller and aimed at intensely hydrating the skin (shocker?). Honestly this a really lovely product as sometimes you just want a standard and simple treatment for your skin, especially if you suffer with sensitivity as sometimes all the different ingredients and supposed benefits can irritate it. I’ve only been using this for around a week since posting my Rare Beauty review but it’s been treating my skin really kindly.
I can’t give a proper review on it yet as I haven’t been using it for long enough but the texture is gorgeous, it’s really gentle and my god does it moisturise. Something I’ve definitely figured already though is that I must apply it quite far in advance if I’m applying makeup as it takes quite a while to soak in. It is really lovely to apply at night for this reason as I wake up with such plump and hydrated skin.
Dermalogica Skinperfect Primer SPF30 // £44.50 for 22ml
I’ve saved this until last as I am yet to try this due to waiting to get to the end of a Bobbi Brown one I’ve been using for a while but I will keep you all updated when I finally do. It claims to “smooth fine lines, brighten and prime for flawless skin and prep for makeup application”. The formula also contains Soy Protein which is included to help even out the texture of your skin and provide you with a much smoother surface.
Dermalogica 12 Days To Glow Advent Calendar // £120 (with a £175 value)
I got sent this beauty separately at the beginning of December in preparation for Christmas. Today will be day 7 so I thought I’d show you guys the bits and bobs that have been behind the calendars doors so far. I’ve also been opening them on my Instagram stories so you can head on over there to see the rest of them if you like! It’s such a wonderful thing to wake up excited about every morning and I’m loving the miniatures as it means I can take them away with me on my holidays next year!
Have you ever tried any Dermalogica products? What are your favourites?
