So it’s time for my monthly samples post and this month I have been trying some bits from Lush that I was given after a little skin consultation with the lovely Danni in the Cribbs Causeway store! The product I bought from the consultation was the Cosmetic Warrior fresh mask that has actually been working very nicely for my skin at the moment so I’m super glad I invested in it. The samples I got sent away with were…
So this cream claims to “help fine lines do a disappearing act”, it doesn’t have cocoa butter in like a lot of other Lush products so the consistency isn’t as thick but with lavender, geranium and neroli oils in it definitely packs some nourishment in it.
I absolutely adored this cream, I got 3 or 4 uses out of the sample pot and was so sad when it ran out as my skin felt so plump and hydrated when using it, it was such a nice base for makeup too as it prepped the skin so well and made it so glowy. If you’re a fan of the Kiehls Midnght Recovery range, this is just like what I’d imagine the facial cream would be if they released one, the smell is so similar and it is a proper skin saviour. I REALLY want to buy this but in all honesty the price is putting me off a bit, it’s going to have to be one for the Christmas list I think.
This one is a bit kinder on the bank balance AND it has almond oil in which is always a winner for me as it’s such a softening and lovely smelling ingredient. Also containing fresh dove orchid extract and ylang ylang essential oil, the fragrance is super light and refreshing and the product consistency is quite like a thick milk.
I really liked using this product, the consistency and texture is perfect for me as I’m really not one for heavy or super oily cleansers. It feels light and fresh on the skin but still like it removes what it needs to although I would recommend double cleansing just to make sure. If I wasn’t as lazy as I am and didn’t use makeup wipes (shh don’t judge) I would definitely buy the full size of it, it goes a pretty long way so would last you quite a while and it isn’t such a bad price compared to some other cleansers on the market.
This one is a gel sort of consistency and it comes in a pump bottle, it’s said to prevent breakouts when you put it on one you can feel developing but won’t upset the skins balance anywhere else at the same time. It does contain quite a few anti-bacterial ingredients like tea-tree and thyme and also witch-hazel which is known to be a life-saver for spot-prone skin.
I was told this product would break me out at first due to it pulling any unwanted substances out of my skin and then it’d settle but I used this product consistently for a week on an area of my face prone to breakouts and I can’t say I saw any difference at all unfortunately, I didn’t really break out any more than usual and my skin hasn’t improved since either. It sounds like a really great idea for a product and with the ingredients in it I thought it’d be a big winner but I think I will stick with my The Body Shop Tea Tree Night Mask for now which you can read about here.
What are your favourite Lush skincare products? I’d really love to try the cupcake fresh face mask next as it smells amazing and has cocoa butter in!
