I posted a picture on my Instagram recently of a simple glitter look I did and I’ve had awesome feedback and the glitter brand even reposted it on their Instagram this morning (woo!!). I’ve had a few people ask what products I used and how to apply the glitter as it can get super messy so I thought I’d do a really quick run down of the products I used and how I did it.
Firstly, if you’re super clumsy like me I’d recommend using pressed glitter rather than loose as just like loose powder it goes absolutely everywhere. I have the Sin City palette from www.crushedgemscosmetics.com and this is it here:
I did swap one of the darker colours in the original Sin City palette for the orangey holographic colour called ‘Phoenix’ as i’m a sucker for amber colours and I thought i’d use it more and so far it is my favourite colour in the palette. They’re a small, independent business at the moment and the glitters are all hand-made/pressed so they are a little expensive and do take a while to arrive but they are so worth it! They’re also a cruelty-free and vegan brand and have recently released liquid highlighters and bath bombs too which I will be investing in soon 😀
So here is the look:
I am using the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Shade 1 (Fair), No7 Beautifully Matte foundation in the shade ‘Calico’ then the No7 Translucent powder on top. Then using the Kat Von D Shade and Light contour palette and the shade ‘Marshmallow’ from the ABH Sweets Glowkit on my cheeks.
For the shadow I used my Morphe 35F palette, used the orangey/amber shimmer colour as a base on the lid and then put a matte auburn on top to create a deeper colour for the glitter to go on top of.
For the glitter I applied Too Faced Glitter Glue on the lid and then used a small lip brush and dampened in with Urban Decay Setting Spray. I then dipped the brush into the darker gold glitter in the palette and patted it onto my eyelids, do not brush or stroke as there will be quite a bit of fall out onto the face and glitter is MURDER to remove as the particles are so small. I only applied the glitter halfway across my lids as it was only a casual look and having a lighter colour or a reflecting colour on the inner corners of the eyes opens them up a lot more for us small eyed ladies.
Last but not least I applied Ardell Demi Wispies with Duo eyelash glue and then a Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade “Vampira”.
Hope you liked my look and post! Do you have any favourite glitter brands that you can recommend?!
’Til next time,
