Todays post probably couldn’t have been uploaded at a better time due to this weather. I’m definitely more of a skirt/dress wearer as I’m definitely more of a bottom-heavy kinda girl. As my thighs, hips and bum are larger than the rest of my body, most shorts just do not work for me. In an aesthetic or comfort kind of way. It’s FAR too hot for tights so I am going to be getting my chunky pins out to make sure I’m keeping my temperature down.
Speaking of those chunky pins, I do not have thighs that don’t meet in the middle. The majority of people don’t. If you’re a fellow thigh-touching individual, you’ll more than likely know the struggles and discomfort of a horrible thing called chafing. It’s basically just a posh word for friction burn of the skin. This can be caused by skin-on-skin or clothes-on-skin friction so it can actually affect quite a few areas of the body, depending on what you wear and your general activity. It has turned into a rather taboo subject to talk about. People seem to think it relates to being overweight which totally isn’t the case.
My struggles are currently solely on my inner thighs and boy does it sting. I’ve tried many different things to try and create a barrier over the years I’ve suffered with it. Unfortunately I’ve never found a foolproof thing that works every time. I personally really don’t want to sit sweating in a pair of those ant-chafe shorts either. But – I had a little complimentary package popped through my door a few weeks back containing two cans of something called Smoovall. I’ll be giving you the lowdown of this little gem of a product today.
A Little About Smoovall
The brains behind Smoovall recognise that chafing is a really common problem that needs addressing. Most importantly with an affordable product that ACTUALLY works. After trying many solutions (like us all) they believed they could create an all-in-one, non messy and effective product. With an issue like this, they believe it’s important for a product to be user-friendly which is why they invented Smoovall Skin Contact Spray. It’s invisible on the skin, takes no longer than a minute to apply and dry and works for around 4 hours per application. It’s also the perfect size to pop in your handbag, is cooling on application and has a lovely, fresh scent to it.
So, What Do I Think?
After trialling this over the past few weeks, I can confirm I am IN LOVE with it. I’ve worn a skirt or a dress nearly every day so have been using this spray consistently. Not one burn, sting or mark in sight. I’ve only actually been applying it once a day generally too and it does me for the entirety of it. I walked 20,000 steps one day around Paignton Zoo in a Summer dress and didn’t even need to top up! It’s actually quite an odd sensation as wearing it doesn’t feel any different to not wearing it. It’s not sticky nor dry, it’s as if it isn’t even there.
I also have quite sensitive skin. Especially on my legs as I suffer from eczema and grass allergies but this caused no reaction whatsoever. I love the subtle scent and I love how it feels refreshing and cool when you apply it too. It’s just what you need on a hot day. Just for reference, this is not a miracle worker as it won’t stop you sweating but it creates such a good barrier. I honestly cannot recommend it enough and will be repurchasing to use throughout Summer when my stash runs out!
Smoovall is £12.99 for an 80ml bottle and you can find their site here if you’re interested in purchasing or knowing more! I’ve been using one of my bottles to carry round in my bag with me just incase and one at home to apply in the mornings and neither have ran out yet.
Have you tried Smoovall or any fabulous anti-chafe products?
