So I know I’m a bit behind and this palette was released quite a few months back now but whenever I seemed to have the money to afford to buy it, it wasn’t in stock and when I couldn’t afford it, BAM, of course it was available. But anyway, it doesn’t matter anymore as this beautiful burnt toned palette is now ALL mine and I can stop whinging thanks to my best pal Marika who got me it as a surprise for my 21st! She also got me the NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette which I’d also been dying to try (friend goals, right?) you can read my review of that here too.
SO here it is. The palette of dreams, The Violet Voss Holy Grail and my god is it Holy.
Look at the beauty of it, I’m so super in love with it that I wouldn’t even touch it for a week after I opened it as I almost felt I wasn’t worthy or talented enough to use a palette so unbelievably NICE.
I’d never actually heard of the brand Violet Voss before I stumbled across the release of this palette and I can’t say that I’m overly interested in any of their other products but they’ve definiteiy hit the nail on the head with this one considering how popular it has been and still is. The palette I got was purchased from Beauty Bay at the price of £43 and it came perfectly packaged and ready for use.
This palettes eyeshadows formula also contains jojoba oil which can act as sebum when applied to the skin, sebum is something that our skin naturally produces to stay moisturised and plump. When our skin stops producing enough sebum, the skin sags and loses elasticity which is why the eyes and lips are the worst ageing parts on our face, so putting jojoba oil in eyeshadows is a pretty genius idea in my opinion! Also the fact it’s obviously gonna make them super creamy to apply.
I’m really sorry but I couldn’t bring myself to waste even an inch of this product so I haven’t got any swatches of the colours… but have some looks I’ve done so far!
A red/gold look with the shades Crystal, Cranberry Splash and Toffee and Brownie Points for the undereye.
And a simple pinky look with the shades Crystal, Transition, So Jelly, Cranberry Splash and Teddy Bear for the undereye.
I honestly can’t recommend this palette enough, you can create anything from ‘no-makeup’ looks to full blown dance all night looks because of the array of shades. I’m so excited to do more complex creations with it when I’ve got some more time which you can keep up to date with over on my Instagram! The shimmers in it are almost glitters they’re so pigmented and the mattes are incredibly creamy and so easily blendable.
Do you have this palette, if so what is your favourite shade?
And the ultimate question… Violet Voss Holy Grail or ABH Modern Renaissance!?
‘Til Next Time,
